Your private study buddy that explains anything.

What it's for

Ask any question — homework, concepts, exam prep. Snap a photo of a problem or paste it in. The tutor walks you through it step-by-step instead of dumping an answer, so you actually learn the material.

How to use it

  1. 1.Click "Tutor" in the sidebar.
  2. 2.Type your question, OR click the camera icon to upload a photo.
  3. 3.The tutor responds with explanations, equations, and step-by-step solutions.
  4. 4.Ask follow-up questions in the same chat — it remembers context.

Study Sets

Flashcards that actually help you remember.

What it's for

Create flashcards for any topic. Use them for matching games, tests, cram sessions, and quiz battles against the AI. Sets can be public (shared on Discover) or private (just for you).

How to use it

  1. 1.Click "My Sets" in the sidebar.
  2. 2.Click "+ Create Set".
  3. 3.Add terms and definitions — or paste a list and Study Them will format it.
  4. 4.On the set page, use the study modes: Learn, Test, Match, Cram, AI Study Buddy, Quiz Battle.

Audio Overviews

NotebookLM-style podcasts about anything.

What it's for

Generate an AI podcast about your study material. Two AI hosts discuss the topic like a real show. You can jump in and talk to them live, like calling into the show — they’ll answer your questions and adapt the conversation.

How to use it

  1. 1.Open one of your Exam Plans (or create one at /exams).
  2. 2.Click "Generate Audio Overview".
  3. 3.Choose: from your uploaded sources, OR from a topic you type.
  4. 4.Wait ∼ 3–5 minutes for generation.
  5. 5.Play it like a podcast. Click "Join" mid-podcast to talk live with the host (Pro feature).

Your hub for one exam.

What it's for

Organize everything around a single exam — your uploaded notes, study guides, audio overviews, and practice quizzes. One place per exam, so you’re not hunting through folders the night before.

How to use it

  1. 1.Click "My Exams" in the sidebar.
  2. 2.Click "+ Create Exam Plan".
  3. 3.Name it (e.g. "AP Bio Unit 3 Test").
  4. 4.Upload your notes, lecture recordings, and textbook PDFs as Sources.
  5. 5.Generate study guides, audio overviews, and quizzes from those sources.

Quiz Battle

Race the AI on flashcards.

What it's for

Speed-quiz against an AI on any study set you have. Best for cramming and active recall — the time pressure forces you to retrieve answers fast, which is how long-term memory actually forms.

How to use it

  1. 1.Open any study set.
  2. 2.Click "Quiz Battle" in the study modes.
  3. 3.The AI generates questions from your cards.
  4. 4.Answer as fast as you can — see who scores higher.

Audio Overviews

NotebookLM-style podcast on any topic.

What it's for

Generate a two-host audio overview from your exam sources or a topic you type in. Two AI hosts (Alex and Sam) discuss the material conversationally so you can study while walking, driving, or working out.

How to use it

  1. 1.Click "Audio Overviews" in the sidebar.
  2. 2.Pick sources OR enter a topic.
  3. 3.Wait ~1–2 minutes for the script + audio.
  4. 4.Play in the browser or open the standalone viewer.

Reverse Mode

Practice from the answer side.

What it's for

You give Study Them an answer (or a topic), and it asks you what the question was. Great for memorizing definitions both ways and for the Feynman technique — if you can teach it, you know it.

How to use it

  1. 1.Click "Reverse Mode" in the sidebar.
  2. 2.Type a topic or term you want to practice.
  3. 3.Study Them asks you questions where you have to recall the term from the definition.

What it's for

Explore what others are studying.

What it's for

Browse public study sets created by other students — someone has probably already made the set you need. Follow people to see their study activity in your Feed and learn from how they prep.

How to use it

  1. 1."Discover" in the sidebar to find public sets.
  2. 2."Feed" in the sidebar to see what people you follow are studying.
